The SKINNY on Jeans
The hottest jeans are skinny. They look great with an equally skinny top, swinging tunic, or fitted shirt. Flares and boot cuts also earn high marks.
Time to WAIST
It’s time to try high waisted pants and skirts. They’re shapely and make it easier to comfortably sit at your desk. Who says fashion can’t be functional?
DRESS to Impress
The “long” and the “short” of it is that dresses rule. All lengths work, from minis to knee skimmers to retro maxis. Change up your dress by adding a belt.
SHIRT Tales
Be a graphic guru and wear a tee shirt that says what you think in words or pictures (school appropriate, of course). Not into graphics? Then opt for shirts with ruffles, bows, or neckties. Stay wrinkle-free by choosing cotton blends and pull it all together by topping with a stylish vest.
Love your HOOD
Hoodies are your best friend. Pop a fitted one over any top that isn’t “dress code” friendly and your problem is solved.
SCARF it Up
Long scarves add drama to the simplest outfits. Practice tying like a pro or simply throw your scarf loosely around your neck. There are no rules.
SOCK it to Me
Stroll into class in super cool socks – the higher, the better. Speaking of feet, look for moccasin-inspired boots or shoes, ballerina flats, anything with a pointy toe, or super comfy sneakers. The heel height is totally up to you!
To DYE For
Tie Dye chic is as cool in ‘08 as it was in ‘68. The newest versions are in pretty colors available right off the rack in everything from tees to pants to scarves. No more do-it-yourself tie dye messes!
BLING BLING
Fall’s color palette is jewel toned, so think Peacock colors. To really strut your stuff, wear something jazzed up with buckles, sequins, feathers, fancy buttons, or embroidery. Use extra care when washing decorated items and don’t overdo the bling.
