SOUTH MALL - CODE OF CONDUCT

South Mall, including its parking lot, is private property. The following Code of Conduct is set forth for the purpose of ensuring a safe and pleasant shopping experience and protecting South Mall’s legitimate business interests. If any guest of the Mall should refuse to follow any aspect of this Code of Conduct, the guest will be asked to leave the property. Should any guest fail or refuse to leave the property, he or she may be subject to arrest. South Mall reserves the right to amend this Code of Conduct at any time.

South Mall is open to the public for the purpose of shopping. Appropriate shopping behavior is required at all times. While on Mall property as a guest, the following activities/behaviors are prohibited:

  • Fighting, “horseplay”, harassment, offensive or sexually explicit language, shouting, loud noise, loitering, littering, spitting, or any other disturbance which disrupts or endangers any patron, guest, merchant, or employee in the shopping center.
  • Physically or verbally threatening any person, bullying, using physical force, obscene language and/or gestures, use of racial, religious, ethnic slurs.
  • Damaging or defacing any surface or portion of the shopping center, sitting on any surface in the mall other than chairs and benches.
  • Congregating in groups of four or more individuals inside or outside the mall unless the group is of a family relationship with adult supervision.
  • Obstructing or interfering with free flow of traffic or other patron’s views or access to mall entrances and corridors, parking areas, store windows, store displays, or store entrances.
  • Running, or the use of roller blades/skates, “heelies”, skateboards, or similar items anywhere on property. Bicycles may only be used on the exterior of the building and must be operated in a safe fashion adhering to all local traffic regulations.
  • Wearing of revealing clothing or clothing with inappropriate words, phrases, or graphics as determined by Mall Management. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. Wearing of masks, hoods, or any items that obstruct the viewing of the face except for those mandated by the CDC or local health regulatory authorities.

  • Smoking/Vaping and the use of any tobacco-based product, including chewing tobacco, anywhere inside the mall. Smoking/Vaping is permitted outside at least 50 feet from any entrance.
  • The possession or use of alcohol or any substance banned by the law. Alcoholic beverages are only permitted in licensed establishments.
  • Use of video cameras or equipment without written approval from the Mall Management Office.
  • Use of two-way radios: Two-way radios are only permitted to be used by security officers employed at the Mall, Mall staff, and duly sworn law enforcement officers.
  • Solicitation of any kind for money/donations and/or goods/services, or distributing commercial advertising or promotional material, or offering samples of items which are sold, without written permission from the Mall Management Office.

Parking: The parking area is private property and is intended for the use of guests, visitors, and employees. Cars must be parked in designated parking spaces. All local traffic regulations are to be obeyed in the mall parking lot. Violators are subject to trespass and civil or criminal penalties. Unauthorized vehicles are subject to tow. Overnight parking, or parking in any fire lane is not permitted unless authorized by Mall Management. Failure to receive written approval will result in towing at the owner’s expense.

Emergency Exits: Unless otherwise authorized by Mall management, emergency exits are to be used for emergencies only.

Children between the ages of 6-16 who are enrolled in an educational facility are not permitted on mall property during school hours, unless they are with a parent, legal guardian, or have a valid work permit.
